So far I've been reading about how the town of Odessa  became a football crazed town and about how it was developed. Although the town has went through many trials such as, sandstorms, diseases and droughts, the citizens are very loyal to their town because they could've left the town of Odessa , and go somewhere safer, but most chose to stay and stick it out.    How does past problems with law effect the climate of the town? Why does the town of Odessa love football so much? Why did Mike feel like he had to play football? How does the town show team spirit? What was the team looking forward to? Why did Boobie feel like he wasn't good enough even after he played football? What kind of impact does football make on the town of Odessa and the people in it?
